Julio brings over twelve years of experience in the hair care industry to Studio Taka. He is a graduate of Pasadena City College, and has spent a large part of his career in the same city. Apart from his cosmetology training at the college, Julio has gained education through Aveda, Redken, Wella, American Crew Male, and JOICO among other leading hair product lines. He is also trained in Japanese straightening systems, Asian hair, Keratin treatments, ethnic hair, and the proprietary bBlond technique developed at Studio Taka for natural looking blond hair.
With his extensive and on-going education, Julio prides himself on his skills as a full-service stylist, meeting the needs of a diverse clientele. These include: color correction, a variety of highlighting techniques customized for each client’s needs and finding the appropriate hair style to make each client look their best. Julio attributes his success from having had the privilege to assist and partake in an intensive training program under the tutelage of Master Hair Stylist Freddie Arboleda; A well respected stylist who was trained in Paris and London and who has garnered recognition from the Los Angeles Magazine two years in a row. His knowledge and creativity continues to grow under the direction of Master Stylist Takafumi Oiwa at Studio Taka.
Apart from his passion for being behind the chair, Julio has fostered his creativity and love of high fashion hair styling through an extensive portfolio of work that includes print work, fashion shows, and television. He also enjoys donating his services for charitable organizations such as The AIDS Foundation and Project Angel Food.
